Boudoir Doll
(ADV005)
Originally popular from 1920's ~ 1950's, Boudoir dolls were "adult" dolls and not meant to be played with by small children but rather to be displayed as decoration. The dolls are characterized by their very limbs. Heads were made of composition or had molded cloth faces.
There are stories of the dolls as status symbols and carried to social engagements. These dolls were fashioned after poplar actresses or characters of the time as portrait dolls and it is a favorite past time of many to match the dolls up with photographs.
This is Leslie's interpretation of a Boudoir Doll, she is 35 inches tall with two full skirts, bodice, jacket, hat and delicate shoes. You will need the Boudoir Face Form to complete this wonderful doll. |
